It’s been a journey since Mark Zuckerberg started Facebook from his quaint dorm room at Harvard University in the early 2000s.

Today, Facebook is the front page of the news for more than 1 billion people every day, and its impact on the world can be felt worldwide.

But let’s talk about Mark Zuckerberg and his track record. There’s no perfect CEO, but is it time for Mark to pull a ‘Bill Gates’?

Controversies and scandals have been hurting Facebook, its products, and sister companies both in the short and long run. In recent years, it has been evident what the problem is. It’s Mark Zuckerberg.

Let’s take a look at what happened over the past decade.

Cambridge Analytica

In 2018, personal data belonging to millions of Facebook users was collected without their consent by Cambridge Analytica.

The data was harvested through an app developed by data scientist Aleksandr Kogan in 2013.

As a result, Facebook was fined $5 billion by the Federal Trade Commission for its privacy violations.
